Green South Portland, a Sierra Club Cool Cities member, is a diverse group of local citizens dedicated to combating global climate change in our community. The group engages fellow residents, local businesses, and municipal leaders in identifying and implementing smart energy solutions that will save money and create a cleaner, more sustainable future for South Portland. They make fellow residents aware of the urgent need for action and provide them with clear strategies and solutions by offering:

• Educational outreach
• Technical assistance
• A network of local and national contacts

Green South Portland is committed to helping South Portland honor its pledge to reduce greenhouse gas emissions in accordance with the U.S. Mayors’ Climate Protection Agreement, which the City Council voted to sign in 2007.
