maine home performance, Efficiency Maine, energy star

Maine Home Performance with ENERGY STAR trains and certifies home energy evaluators.  A home performance evaluation is more than an energy audit:  it's a "whole-house" assessment of a home's energy usage, as well as its air quality, moisture, and ventilation.  The evaluation leads to recommendations for energy-related home improvements based on current building science standards, and these improvements are followed by a final test of the home.  The final, post-improvement test measures for projected energy savings.  It also ensures the home receives proper ventilation and that there are no safety hazards such as back-drafting of carbon monoxide.  To find a trained and certified Maine Home Performance evaluator, visit www.MaineHomePerformance.org.
